Movable Type Mixer
I've been waiting for a time when I had some decent pics that related to my new job as an interaction designer at Six Apart. Seeing as we just had a Movable Type Mixer tonight, this event seemed like a great way to talk about the party and the company that I now work for down in lovely San Mateo.
Back in 2001, I first met Ben and Mena when we all worked together at Ignition Design. I had seen Mena once since we left Ignition, so I was happy to hear from her one day back in May when she asked me to do some contract work for Six Apart. A few weeks later, I was hired as an interaction designer. Wow...it pays to be nice to your co-workers because you might just end up working for them one day! Working with the incredibly smart and talented folks at Six Apart has been awesome, and I've enjoyed helping out with TypePad.
Ray and I had a great time at the party, and he really enjoyed meeting my co-workers. The event venue, Varnish Fine Art Gallery, is a beautiful space, and you can't beat great food and free drinks--woohoo! Varnish happened to be showing Eric White's work, and Ray and I really liked a piece by Kim Maria and Craig La Rotonda.
