Robert Moog, R.I.P.
Just this past weekend, a friend and I were watching Hans Fjellestad's documentary about Robert Moog, the inventor of the Moog synthesizer. Moog features interviews and performances by Stereolab, Luke Vibert, DJ Spooky, Money Mark, Mix Master Mike, and many others.
I'm sorry to say that he passed away this Sunday.
As a fan of electronic music, I've seen Robert Moog (rhymes with vogue) in another documentary, Modulations, and he always came across as a very thoughtful, intelligent, creative, and spiritual man who conceived of and designed wonderful electronic music instruments. The world of electronic music would be very different if it weren't for Robert Moog.
