William Eggleston in the Real World

real_world_sm.jpgNow running until September 13 at the Film Forum in NYC is Michael Almereyda’s subtle and quietly elegant documentary on the life and work of William Eggleston, who is widely regarded as a pioneer in color art photography and the first person to have a solo exhibit of color photography at the Musuem of Modern Art in 1976.

William Eggleston in the Real World shows Eggleston at work--how he frames and composes his shots and why he chooses to photograph certain subjects. Both the Village Voice and the New York Times offer two articles on the film.

If you're in NYC on October 16, don't miss William Eggleston speaking at Tokion Magazine's Creativity Now conference.
